What Project 2025 Means for Our Cities

"..from the '2016 Mandate for Leadership', the Trump Administration implemented 64% of the recommendations in the first year"

Republicans don’t plan to waste time remaking the US government if their guy wins in November. The playbook is “Mandate for Leadership: the Conservative Promise,” aka Project 2025, and it’s chock full of amazingly terrible ideas when it comes to cities.

This isn’t anywhere near the darkest stuff in this 900+ page document, but as far as Transportation and Cities go, it’s pretty grim. I do encourage you to read the document if you can stomach it, and I’ve left a link to the PDF down in the description. You might take peek at the final section ominously titled “Onward”. Really a fitting title, because the work of these geniuses never seems to end it and just gets progressively worse.

They do point out that from the “2016 Mandate for Leadership“, the Trump Administration implemented 64% of the recommendations in the first year, so maybe only 64% of Project 2025 will get implemented. But given that everything in the document is terrible, that’s probably about 64% too much. So there’s work to do.
