Extreme temperatures are becoming more common in cities as they face the negative impacts of climate change.

We launched Tree Canopy Insights on Google’s Environmental Insights Explorer (EIE) to help fight extreme heat. EIE is our flagship solution for cities looking to reduce carbon emissions and improve climate resilience. Developed by Google Research and Google Earth, Tree Canopy Insights empowers cities to see information about their tree canopy coverage to inform areas of priority for future planting projects.

Learn more about how Google Research is working to address climate change by using aerial imagery and AI paired with Environmental Insights Explorer data analysis capabilities.
